On Tuesday, April 19, 2011 The Glen Retirement System hosted 165 children from Eighty-First Street Early Childhood Education Center for the Annual Easter Celebration. The Easter Bunny greeted the children and they enjoyed refreshments before receiving an Easter basket filled with candy and a small stuffed animal. Then they hunted over 1000 Easter Eggs on the front lawn of The Glen. The residents and children had a wonderful time together. The Glen also delivered small Easter
themed footballs to 100 special needs children at the school. This was an emotionally rewarding event for everyone involved.
This is the sixth year that The Glen’s Community Outreach Program has hosted this event and the third year that the event has been supported by a grant from the Jess Merkle Foundation.
