Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) allow seniors the convenience of “aging in place”. An organization offering several levels of care through accommodations that are designed to meet a variety of healthcare and housing needs provides flexibility for our aging population. Seniors who are able to live independently can do so in a CCRC with the peace of mind that if they begin to need assistance with activities of daily living, they have options that prevent them from having to relocate. They may move to Assisted Living or a Skilled Care Community offering Short Term Rehab and then return to their apartment. The ability to move back and forth between facilities or communities as needs change is available without the difficulties of orienting to a completely different organization or property.  As needs often change quickly, CCRCs provide residents with a gentler transition between levels of care.
