Senior care facility goes Western on May 3
Shreveport, LA – In conjunction with the Older Americans Month’s theme “Blaze a Trail” and Give for Good, the Glen Retirement System will host a Western-themed day May 3 for residents.
“We are excited to host yet another event where residents of The Glen can enjoy a fun and casual day to support our mission as a nonprofit,” CEO and President Debra Williams said. “This day is equally in part to engage residents and help build an awareness of the quality of life that The Glen provides to the seniors in our community.”
After breakfast, a photo booth with Western accessories will be set up for residents to pose with for a photo. Photos will be sent out to the residents and families at a later date. During lunch, the staff will invite residents to a cookout. Grilled hamburgers and sausage, along with plenty of delicious side items, will be served from 11: 30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to residents. At 2 p.m. residents can participate in “Blaze a Trail” painting. Activities associate Brenda Snider will teach a painting class for residents to create a desert theme work of art on a canvas.
